June 2012

Annual Egg Hunt….

This year 21 neighborhood kids participated in our Easter outreach.  Thirteen of them were from non church related families and for this we were praising God.  Actually, it was a huge encouragement to see some of the girls who have been coming to The Zone come to the egg hunt also.  God gave us a beautiful morning to play games, hunt eggs, dye eggs and present the resurrection story.  Pray with us that the contacts we have made with the children in the neighborhood will yield eternal dividends!
Furlough Preparations…..
As we all know, and as the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun.  It is hard to believe that we were last in the US in 2008 and almost four years have gone by.  Actually, it seems like they have literally blown by.  We are currently in the throes of getting ready to head back to North Carolina for a six month furlough.  We leave Spain on the 19th of June.  Until that time, life and ministry continue to move forward.  Please pray with us that God will grant spiritual, physical, and emotional strength during the next three very busy weeks.
Gospel Concert….
It may sound a bit strange to mention a Gospel concert, but actually, here in Spain, it is viewed as a cultural event.  Given that, our church will be hosting a Gospel concert on the 15th of June.  Please pray with us that many unsaved will come to enjoy this cultural activity and will leave having their hearts and lives transformed by the music, testimonies and devotional that will be shared.
Visiting your church….
We have already begun to schedule meetings.  Our goal is to visit as many churches as possible, placing emphasis on those that we did not get to in 2008.  In addition to reporting to our supporting churches, we need to raise about $1,600 per month in support.  Please pray with us that God will supply this need!  In fact, would you be willing to pray and ask God if He could use you to help meet this need?  You would be surprised what just $10, $20, or more a month, when multiplied by 20, 30, or 40 families can do.  Your journey of faithful giving can make an eternal difference!  If God should so lead in your heart to join our support team you can do so by visiting www.abwe.org/give.   On the left hand side of the page click on “commit to support a missionary or project”.

A great egg hunt
The Zone (youth outreach) is going really well.  There are 12 to 15 kids who consistently attend.  On the 8th of June, we are sponsoring our first ping-pong tournament.

Clodgo Corner March 2012

The Five Love Languages…

The weekend after Valentine´s Day, our church, in cooperation with a Christian organization called Family to Family, sponsored a marriage workshop based on Dr. Gary Chapman´s book The Five Love Languages.  There were 22 adults in attendance – including two unsaved ladies.  The message of love based upon Godly principles is desperately needed here in Spain where almost two-thirds of marriages end in divorce.  Please continue to pray with us that the believers who attended the workshop will daily put into practice the principles that they learned and that the two unsaved ladies who attended will come to Christ.

The Zone…
If you will remember, in our last prayer letter, we mentioned a new youth outreach ministry that we started at our church called La Zona (The Zone).  Thanks for your prayers.  The ministry is still going strong.  Every other Friday afternoon (We are alternating this outreach with AWANA) anywhere from 12 to 15 teens from the neighborhood come into our church to “hang-out” for an hour and a half.  Over the past several months, we have gotten to know all of them by name and some of them will even talk to us! J Please continue to pray that God will break down barriers, open doors, and that these teens will come to Christ!

Upcoming furlough…

Beginning mid-June of this year, we will be returning to the states for a six month furlough.  God has already graciously provided housing (Thanks Cornatzer Baptist Church) and a vehicle (Thanks Westeren family). If God should so lead in your heart to join our support team you can do so by visiting www.abwe.org/give  On the left hand side of the page click on “commit to support a missionary or project”.

Tammy teaching during AWANA

One of the highlights of our AWANA year thus far was a theme night that we did just a few months ago.  The church members used suitcases filled with all kinds of exciting props to share Bible stories.  The clubbers had a great time traveling from room to room listening to the various stories.

January 2012 Update

Clodgo Corner Update - January 2012
Glenn, Tammy, Levi, and Gracen
Missionaries in Spain with ABWE

Dear prayer and financial partners,

We want to begin this update by letting you know just how much we appreciate you and the vital role you play in the ministry that God has called us to here in Spain.  Thank you for the time you spend in prayer and for your sacrificial giving!  Thanks for your eternal investment in the lives of Spaniards.
Since our prayer letter in December, things have been moving right along.  The church in Coslada just had it´s annual meeting.   It is a great moment in the life of the church to reflect back upon the previous year and talk about the direction that we feel God is leading us in for the upcoming one.  Over the past year, the church has been involved in so many different activities - men´s and ladies Bible studies, AWANA, evangelistic Bible studies, The Zone (a youth activity), family camp, special outreach activities, kid´s club (VBS), and so much more.  It is a tremendous encouragement and blessing to work along side of the Spanish believers in the church and see their passion and dedication to the Lord.
One of the items on the agenda for our annual meeting was our furlough.  In June, we will be taking a 6 month furlough.  Please be in prayer with us that God would provide housing and the use of a reliable vehicle.  If you might be able to help us in any one of these areas or know of someone who might, please let us know.  Also, we will soon be contacting supporting churches in order to schedule a time to report on the ministry in Spain. However, we will also need to raise more monthly support.  We are currently only at 82% of our needed support.  Thanks in advance for taking these matters before the throne!

Yours for the harvest in Spain,
Glenn, Tammy, Levi, and Gracen Clodgo
